# Create an X (Twitter) App and Connect OOMOL

Open [OOMOL App Connections](https://console.oomol.com/connections), find the app, and choose **Add account**. Follow these steps when asked to provide your own app credentials. You will need an account that can create or manage the app on the provider’s website; ask your administrator for help if you cannot access those settings.

## 1. Create or open the app

1. Sign in to [X (Twitter)](https://developer.x.com/).
2. Open your app, or create one in the developer console. In **User authentication settings**, enable **OAuth 2.0** and select **Web App, Automated App or Bot**. Enter your website URL.

## 2. Set the callback URL

In the account form, copy the full **Redirect URI**. If an authentication method is shown, choose OAuth2. Paste it into **Callback URI / Redirect URL** in the provider’s app settings and save. Keep the address unchanged, including its path and trailing slash.

## 3. Save the credentials

Open **Keys and tokens** and copy the OAuth 2.0 credentials.

In OOMOL’s OAuth client configuration, paste **Client ID** into **Client ID** and **Client Secret** into **Client Secret**, then save.

## 4. Connect your account

1. In OOMOL, open the connection settings and continue with OAuth2.
2. After saving the credentials, expand **Advanced OAuth scopes** to review the requested permissions. Keep **tweet.read**, **users.read**, and **offline.access**; add **tweet.write** to publish posts and **media.write** to upload media.
3. Start the connection, sign in to the X account you want to use, and approve access.
4. Return to OOMOL and confirm that the account is connected. Read your X profile and check the username.

## If you cannot connect

**App Bearer Token** is needed for full archive searches and compliance jobs. Leave it empty for the profile check above. If one of those operations requests it, copy it from the same X app into the optional OOMOL field. Check your X API access and billing settings if the operation remains unavailable.
