Privacy Notice for PDF Craft

This Privacy Notice explains how Oomol Studio Limited (“OOMOL”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in the PDF Craft browser extension (“PDF Craft” or the “Extension”). It supplements the OOMOL Privacy Policy. If this notice and the OOMOL Privacy Policy conflict, this notice governs only the PDF Craft-specific processing described below.

PDF Craft is local-first

PDF Craft lets you create a local workspace around the PDF and EPUB documents you choose. You select the local folder used as your Vault. The Extension keeps your saved documents, document metadata, organization, local search/index state, locally generated cover images, and session/conversation records in that Vault or in browser storage needed to operate the Extension.

Installing or opening PDF Craft does not by itself upload the contents of your Vault to OOMOL. You decide which documents to save, whether to build a cloud search index, and whether to send a message to the AI features.

Deleting an OOMOL account does not delete the documents or records in a Vault on your own device. To remove local Vault data, delete the relevant documents, sessions, or Vault folder yourself. You may also disconnect a Vault or uninstall the Extension.

When PDF Craft uses cloud services

PDF Craft uses OOMOL cloud services only for features you actively request:

Account sign-in. When you sign in, PDF Craft exchanges the result of the sign-in flow with OOMOL account services so it can determine whether cloud features are available for your account.
Search indexing. When you choose Build search index for a document, PDF Craft sends that selected document, or the document material necessary to perform the requested conversion or indexing, to OOMOL Fusion services.
AI conversations. When you send a message in a PDF Craft conversation, PDF Craft sends the message, relevant document context, and necessary tool results to OOMOL’s model service to generate a response.

The Microsoft Edge edition asks for separate, revocable consent before the first requested cloud indexing or AI action. If you decline or withdraw that consent, local Vault features remain available, but the affected cloud action will not run until you consent again.

Information OOMOL receives

Depending on the action you request, OOMOL services may receive:

account identifiers and public profile information used to provide your account;
authentication and service-session information required to keep the requested cloud feature available;
the documents, document-derived material, and document context you select for cloud indexing or an AI conversation;
your messages, model responses, and necessary tool results for an AI conversation; and
service, security, and quality-monitoring records, such as timestamps, operation status, diagnostic information, and network information such as an IP address, which may indicate an approximate region.

We use this information to provide the feature you requested, authenticate and secure your account, operate and troubleshoot the service, prevent abuse, and monitor reliability and service quality. We do not use the private contents of your documents or conversations for advertising, user profiling, unrelated analytics, or AI model training.

How information is shared

OOMOL may process the information above through the OOMOL account, Fusion, and model services that provide the requested feature, and through service providers that operate those services or the necessary secure file-transfer infrastructure. These recipients may process information only to provide, secure, or support the requested service and under OOMOL’s instructions.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising. We do not share personal information for another party’s independent marketing or advertising purposes.

We may disclose information when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of OOMOL, our users, or the public.

Retention

Local Vault data remains on your device until you remove it. OOMOL retains account and cloud-service records while your account remains active and as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and monitor the requested service. When you delete your OOMOL account, we handle associated account and service records in accordance with the OOMOL Privacy Policy and applicable law. Some records may be retained where legally required or necessary for security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Your choices and controls

You control whether to sign in, whether to request cloud indexing or AI conversations, and which documents you keep in your local Vault. You can remove documents and sessions from the Vault, disconnect or replace the Vault, sign out, and follow the account-deletion instructions available on the OOMOL website.

PDF Craft may request optional access to local file URLs so that its Quick Panel can recognize and work with local PDF and EPUB pages. You can turn this access off in browser settings. If you do, local PDF/EPUB detection, reading, and related save workflows may be reduced or unavailable.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by OOMOL services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when PDF Craft, our services, or applicable legal requirements change. We will post the updated notice at this page and update the effective date.
