It returns the run record. Check its status and available output before treating the task as complete.

Can I continue an existing conversation?

Provide the existing thread ID when starting a run, rather than asking for a new thread.

Are events streamed through this connection?

No. The events operation reads a non-streaming list for the selected assistant run.
