Provide both the list ID and contact ID, with the exact fields or tags to change. Contacts are addressed within a particular list.

Can I remove a tag without deleting a contact?

Yes. Contact updates accept named tag additions and removals. Request the tag change directly.

How should I specify subscription changes?

State the intended status explicitly and use the contact’s current consent and subscription history. A field or tag update does not require changing subscription status.
