Zoom app guide
Last updated on June 6, 2026
OOMOL lets you connect your Zoom account once, then use Zoom tools from supported AI agents and OOMOL workflows. This guide explains how to add the Zoom app, what permissions OOMOL uses, what you can do with it, how to troubleshoot common issues, and how to remove the app.
Prerequisites
- An OOMOL account.
- A Zoom account that you are allowed to authorize for third-party apps.
- Access to the OOMOL Console at https://console.oomol.com/.
- If your Zoom organization restricts Marketplace apps, your Zoom administrator may need to allow the OOMOL app before you can authorize it.
Adding the app
- Sign in to the OOMOL Console.
- Open Connectables or go directly to Connections.
- Search for Zoom.
- Select Zoom, then choose Connect.
- OOMOL redirects you to Zoom. Sign in to Zoom if prompted.
- Review the Zoom authorization screen, including the requested permissions.
- Select Allow to authorize OOMOL.
- After Zoom redirects you back to OOMOL, confirm that Zoom appears as connected in your OOMOL connections.
If any step fails, see Troubleshooting.
After authorization, OOMOL stores the connection needed to call Zoom tools on your behalf. You can then use Zoom tools from OOMOL-supported agents and workflows.
Usage
Zoom tools are available only after you connect your Zoom account. The exact tool list shown in OOMOL may change as the connector is updated, but the current Zoom connector includes tools for reading your Zoom user profile, listing meetings, creating meetings, and updating meetings.
Permissions used
OOMOL uses these Zoom scopes to let authorized Zoom account admins connect Zoom as an App in OOMOL, then make approved Zoom meeting tools available to their AI agents and reusable Skills.
Required scopes:
| Zoom scope | Used by | Why OOMOL uses it |
|---|---|---|
user:read:user:admin | Get User | Identify the connected Zoom account after OAuth authorization and display the authorized Zoom user in OOMOL. OOMOL uses this information to show account ownership, manage the connected App connection, and record which Zoom account was used for tool execution. |
meeting:write:meeting:admin | Create Meeting | Create Zoom meetings through OOMOL Tools. A user or agent can request a meeting, and OOMOL creates the meeting using the authorized Zoom account. |
Optional scopes:
| Zoom scope | Used by | Why OOMOL uses it |
|---|---|---|
meeting:read:list_meetings:admin | List Meetings | Find or list existing meetings for an authorized Zoom user when a user asks an agent to do so. OOMOL uses this permission so Zoom Tools can show existing meeting information before the user selects a meeting for review or follow-up action. |
meeting:update:meeting:admin | Update Meeting | Update an existing Zoom meeting when a user asks an agent to change the meeting topic, start time, duration, or related meeting settings. If this optional scope is not granted, meeting update actions are not available. |
If a user or Zoom administrator does not grant an optional scope, the Zoom connection can still exist, but tools that depend on that scope may be unavailable or fail until the permission is granted.
Supported Zoom tools
| Tool | Supported function | Typical use case | Prerequisites |
|---|---|---|---|

Prerequisites:
- Zoom is connected in OOMOL.
- The connected Zoom account is active.
What the tool does:
- Reads basic information about the authorized Zoom user.
- Does not create, update, or delete Zoom meetings.
List Meetings
Use case: let an agent check upcoming Zoom meetings before preparing an agenda, creating a reminder, planning follow-up work, or coordinating with another calendar or project tool.
Prerequisites:
- Zoom is connected in OOMOL.
- The connected Zoom account has permission to view the meetings being requested.
What the tool does:
- Retrieves meetings available to the authorized Zoom account.
- Returns meeting metadata that Zoom makes available for the authorized user, such as meeting topic, schedule information, and join details when available.
- Does not modify meetings.
Create Meeting
Use case: let an agent schedule a Zoom meeting as part of a workflow, such as setting up a customer call, project sync, interview, class session, or internal review.
Prerequisites:
- Zoom is connected in OOMOL.
- The connected Zoom account has permission to create meetings.
- The agent or workflow has the required meeting details, such as topic, date, time, timezone, and meeting settings.
What the tool does:
- Creates a Zoom meeting for the authorized Zoom account based on the provided inputs.
- Returns the meeting information made available by Zoom, such as the meeting ID and join URL when available.
- Does not invite attendees by itself unless the active OOMOL workflow uses another connected app, such as email or calendar, to send invitations.
Update Meeting
Use case: let an agent update an existing Zoom meeting when plans change, such as changing the meeting topic, scheduled time, duration, timezone, agenda, or other supported meeting settings.
Prerequisites:
- Zoom is connected in OOMOL.
- The connected Zoom account has permission to update the target meeting.
- The agent or workflow has the meeting ID and the updated meeting details.
What the tool does:
- Updates an existing Zoom meeting for the authorized Zoom account based on the provided inputs.
- Does not create a new meeting.
- Does not delete a meeting.
Troubleshooting
I cannot add the Zoom app
- Make sure you are signed in to the correct OOMOL account.
- Make sure you are signing in to the Zoom account you want to connect.
- If your Zoom account belongs to an organization, ask your Zoom administrator whether third-party Marketplace apps or this app require admin approval.
- Try disconnecting any failed or partial Zoom connection in OOMOL, then connect again.
- If the issue continues, contact OOMOL support and include the OOMOL account email, the Zoom account email, the time of the attempt, and any error message or screenshot.
A Zoom tool cannot find a meeting
- Confirm that the connected Zoom account has access to the meeting.
- Confirm that the workflow is using the correct date range, timezone, meeting ID, or search input.
- If you recently changed Zoom permissions, reconnect Zoom in OOMOL so the authorization state is refreshed.
A Zoom tool cannot create a meeting
- Confirm that the connected Zoom account can create meetings directly in Zoom.
- Check that the meeting start time, duration, timezone, and required fields are valid.
- If the Zoom account is managed by an organization, confirm that the account policy allows meeting creation through authorized apps.
A Zoom tool cannot update a meeting
- Confirm that the connected Zoom account owns the meeting or has permission to update it.
- Confirm that the workflow is using the correct meeting ID.
- Check that the updated fields are valid for Zoom, such as start time, duration, timezone, and agenda.
- If the update permission was configured as optional in Zoom, reconnect Zoom and grant the permission if prompted.
Removing the app
You can remove the Zoom app from either OOMOL or Zoom. We recommend removing it from both places if you no longer want OOMOL to access Zoom.
Remove Zoom from OOMOL
- Sign in to the OOMOL Console.
- Open Connections.
- Find Zoom in your connected apps.
- Open the Zoom connection details.
- Choose Disconnect, Remove, or the equivalent removal action shown in OOMOL.
- Confirm the removal.
Remove OOMOL from Zoom
- Sign in to your Zoom account and open the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Open Manage.
- Open Added Apps or search for OOMOL.
- Select the OOMOL app.
- Select Remove.
What happens after removal
- OOMOL can no longer use Zoom tools for your account after the Zoom connection is removed or de-authorized.
- Workflows or agents that depend on Zoom may fail until you reconnect Zoom.
- Existing Zoom meetings created before removal remain in Zoom unless you delete them in Zoom.
- Removing the app does not delete your OOMOL account.
Data handling
OOMOL accesses Zoom data only after a Zoom account admin authorizes the app and a user or approved agent action requires Zoom. OOMOL uses Zoom data only to provide the Zoom tools requested through OOMOL-supported agents, reusable Skills, and workflows.
- Zoom OAuth tokens are stored encrypted.
- Zoom OAuth tokens are not exposed to AI agents, prompts, project files, or end users.
- OOMOL may process Zoom user profile and meeting metadata when a Zoom tool is called.
- Zoom meeting and user data may be stored only as needed in user-visible tool results, usage records, execution history, or operational records.
- Stored data is encrypted at rest and transmitted over TLS/SSL.
- OOMOL does not sell your Zoom data.
- OOMOL does not use Zoom data for advertising.
- OOMOL does not use private customer content to train AI models.
- OOMOL does not store Zoom meeting audio, video, transcript, or recording files as part of this connector unless you separately use another OOMOL workflow that explicitly downloads or stores such content.
- When you remove or de-authorize the Zoom app, OOMOL stops using the revoked Zoom authorization. OOMOL deletes or invalidates the stored Zoom authorization tokens according to its normal connection removal process.
- Some logs, support records, security records, or billing-related records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
FAQ
Do I need a paid Zoom account?
Most OOMOL Zoom tools can be authorized by a Zoom account that has the required Zoom permissions. Some Zoom features may depend on your Zoom plan or organization policy.
Can I connect more than one Zoom account?
Use the OOMOL Console to check the current connection options available to your account or workspace. If you need help with multiple Zoom accounts, contact support.
Can an agent use Zoom automatically after I connect it?
Connecting Zoom makes Zoom tools available in OOMOL, but tool use still depends on the agent, workflow, and permissions you choose. Account-based services still require your authorization.
